Welcome to Timonium
Less than ten minutes north of Towson, seat of Baltimore County, is the community of Timonium, a dynamic mix of residential neighborhoods and thriving business districts that’s well-known for playing host to the annual Maryland State Fair.
The U.S. Census Bureau combines Timonium with neighboring Lutherville to form a census-designated place (CDP) which has a combined total population of 15,814 (as of the 2000 census) and an area of 7.4 square miles. As with all of Baltimore County’s communities, Timonium has no official borders, though folks here generally agree that Timonium is bounded by Padonia Road to the north, Ridgley Road to the south, Dulaney Valley Road to the east and by Lutherville to the west.
A good choice for families on the lookout for good schools, close-knit neighborhoods and lots of green spaces, the community has everything a family needs to live comfortably. A bonus is the fact that Timonium, MD homes for sale are still reasonably priced, with prices ranging from $450,000 to $600,000.
Convenient to Interstates 83 and 695 (the Baltimore Harrisburg Expressway and the Baltimore Beltway), Timonium lies halfway between the city of Baltimore to the north and Pennsylvania to the south, both of which can be reached in under 20 minutes. It lies west of the Loch Raven Reservoir and is surrounded by the unincorporated communities of Cockeysville to the north, Mays Chapel to the west and Hampton to the southeast.
