The Village of Parkton
In Baltimore County, around half an hour north of the city of Baltimore, lies the community of Parkton. Almost equidistant from York, Pennsylvania to the north, this unincorporated village is home to approximately 6,600 people (as of the 2000 Census) and has an area of around 41 square miles.
Located in the Hereford Zone, a term created by the Baltimore County School System to refer to the area in the county with the highest elevation, Parkton has colder winter temperatures than the rest of the region. It also has more green and open spaces than other communities nearby.
Country Life
Situated in one of the most beautiful areas of northern Baltimore County, Parkton’s landscape is defined by fertile farmland, lakes, streams, green hills and scattered stands of woods. On Parkton, MD Homes For Sale, the country life is yours for the having. Despite the recent housing developments in the area, Parkton remains a mainly rural community. This doesn’t mean, however, that Parkton residents don’t have access to the amenities one would find in larger communities. What you won’t find in Parkton, you’ll find in Hereford. Less than ten minutes away, Hereford has all the basics (grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.) and even some of the not-so-basics, like a florist and dry cleaners.
For everything else, such as bigger shopping malls, Towson and Baltimore City are just a short drive to the south and Shrewsbury in Pennsylvania lies close by to the north.
